3/5/08 - Opening Day Approaches & Gilroy Gardens Sold!

As opening day approaches at both SFDK and CGA make sure you get your 2008 passes! Both parks are having great deals on passes. This summer is sure to be an exciting one with the addition of Firefall and Tony Hawk's Big Spin. Make sure you visit our forum and leave a trip report after visiting the park this season as we gear up for 2008 at NorCalCoasters.Net!

10/30/07- Great America become California's Great America and More!

Last week Great America announced a new name, ride and coaster in the upcoming seasons. The park which will finally have it's first full season with no Paramount theming, will become "California's Great America," in 2008! The park will re-open next spring with a new ride, "Firefall," as well as a new ice show, and new events. The park has also announced plans in 2009 to build a 102 foot wooden coaster. All part of a 14 million dollar investment over the next two years. Click here to read the official press release.

10/9/07- NorCal Haunt Guide & Special Offer from Great America

Northern California comes alive in October with lots of screams and terror with different Haunted attractions all over the Bay Area. NorCalCoasters has coverage of some of the northern California haunts as well as links to each site so you can plan your month of October. Make sure you visit our guide by clicking here.

Great America is causing its own terror in October. NorCalCoasters has a special coupon for Haunt Fans of $17 off admission. This coupon is a PDF so print it out, and bring it to the park for some scary savings. Remember to check out their new maze, "CarnEvil" which is free with park admission and runs 3 to 8pm. 10/3/07- Tony Hawk's Big Spin

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom has big plans in 2008 with a new twist. Tony Hawk's Big Spin will be introduced in 2008 as the first coaster in Northern California since 2001. The coaster will be a family spinning coaster which is unique to the area. Check out the official press release by clicking this link.

4/13/07 - Great America Update

Great America is open for the season and NorCalCoasters has a photo update of the changes. Make sure you head out to the park either this week or next through the 22nd for Spring Break. The park is open daily at 10AM. Click here for today's update.

1/17/07 - Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is now for real and Message Boards and Site Return

10AM this morning Scott of the NorCalCoasteres Staff traveled to SFMW to learn about the new changes which are upcoming in the 2007 season. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom, the new name to the park, will be taking on a new look also, with three new theme areas for all ages. New entertainment and much more await visitors to SFDK in 2007. I would like to thank everyone for their patience with the Message Boards. I was on vacation the week of Christmas and things got out of control. The staff and myself are continuing our battle to fight the spam issue. If you have any suggestions please let us know as we look to continue to bring our site visitors the high quality content we have in the past. I also would like to thank everyone for their patience over the past four months. I was finishing school, and am nearly complete. Things may be rough again for the next few months, but in no way has NorCalCoasters died. Thanks for your constant support! Here is to a great 2007 Coaster Season!

8/4/06 - New Park in NorCal, SFMW and PGA Photos

NorCalCoasters has the latest photos from the Nut Tree Family Park which is located off Highway 80 in Vacaville. This old property closed in the 90s and is being redeveloped into a new shopping center with a small family park. Also included in the update are photos from SFMW and PGA. Click here for the latest.

6/15/06 - NorCalCoasters Does the Midwest Photo Updates

NorCalCoasters is back with photos from the Midwest. The NCC crew left for Louisville on June 2nd and returned back to San Jose on June 10. Needless to say we have plenty of photos and news from SFKK, PKI, CP, SFGam, and Holiday World. Keep checking back as we update over the next few days. Click Here to view the photos.

5/22/06 Cedar Fair to aquire Paramount Parks

It was announced today that Dick Kinzel's Cedar Fair company would take over the Paramount Parks five parks barring no problems with the official deal. No official buying price was announced, but it was said the investment company provided $2.0 billion in support. The deal is expected to be complete by the third quarter of 2006. No official changes have been announced for any of the parks. Click Here to read the whole release.

3/3/06 - Opening Day at SFMW with Tava's Tour and Surivor Construction Tour

Two big construction tours for NCC this week. Over at PGA, ACE recieved a Construction tour on Friday from the PGA PR Staff and NCC has some photos compliments of Steven Wilson. Secondlyfrom SFMW, Tava's Jungleland has rolled out and is looking great. The new rides are going in and looking to be going in very soon. 2/20/06 - Breaking News: Wills PGA's newest ride Outlast the Others?

Photos and Ride Concept Art have arrived on the internet through the Math/Science and Physics day website. Click Here to read the thread which has all the links to the latest from PGA. This is still not officially from the park, and we do not know when that will come.

2/13/06 - Wipeout to debut at the SCBB and a PGA update!

SCBB recently announced their newest addition in 2006! Wipeout a high energy ride and light show tucked away underneath the boardwalk. Still not exact details have been mentioned. More to come.

In other news, PGA has continued to recieve new parts for their newest addition which still has yet to be announced. Of coures NCC has the latest photos from the park taken this past week. Click Here for the update.

2/5/06 - NorCalNonsense Returns with a Look at the Six Flags Changes

The NCC staff has been busy the past few weeks and our resident columnist has assembled the latest edition of NorCalNonsense.
